Candace Jones, Associate Vice President, Information Technology Services, was drawn to Pasadena City College because their mission of an equity minded learning community mirrored her own passion and values.  In this episode Candace discusses with Alicia Gaba how this mission shapes their overall IT strategy; not only supporting it, but propelling it through a focus on digital equity, student empowerment and an emphasis on meeting their students where they are.  In fact, the focus on digital equity also necessitated and accelerated the adoption of a cloud first strategy.  Listen now as Candace shares how their approach to IT has impacted the education at Pasadena City College through Covid-19 and beyond.

Candace Jones is serving the California Community College system as Associate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Pasadena City College. She is an accomplished IT Professional with twenty years of experience leading IT organizations by successfully implementing, maintaining and developing information systems, web applications, web sites and other software solutions for higher education. During her career, Converge Magazine named Jones as one of eight higher education “Shapers of Our Future.” Candace joined Pasadena City College in July of 2018 transitioning from career positions at the University of California, Office of the President, UCLA and Pepperdine University.
